i c a r a g u a 10. RIGHT OF REPLY AND OF RETRACTION There is no law in this regard, but the fundamental principles
of the American Convention on Human Rights (Pact of San José), Articles
12, 13 and 14, apply, with their incorporation in Article 46 of
the Nicaraguan Political Constitution. The right of ?clarification? was included in the constitutional
reform in force since July 4, 1995. The paragraph states: ?Nicaraguans have the right of access
to the social communcation media and to the right of clarification
when their rights and guarantees are affected.? There is as yet
no enabling legislation for this right and therefore it does not
apply.
