17. REGULATION OF OWNERSHIP AND REGISTRATION REQUIREMENTS OF PUBLICATIONS

In Panama, publication of print media is not subject to permits or licenses. The only requirement is to notify the Ministry of Government and Justice as to the name of the publication, dates of issue, location where it is printed, and who are the owners and the editor.

Radio and television do require the prior concession of a frequency, for which the applicant must comply with a series of technical requirements that vary according to the location of transmitters and the power of the signal.
