8. RIGHT TO A GOOD NAME, TO PRIVACY, TO OWN IMAGE

The Family Code, endorsed by Law 3 of 1994, provides protection and respect with regard to privacy, personal freedom, family security and good name, as well as the right to one?s own image (Art. 575).

It provides that the family has the right to be respected in regard to its private and intimate life. Publications on the private life of anyone are prohibited unless approved by those involved (Art. 576). Every person has the exclusive right to their own image and their photograph shall not be published unless they approve it (Art. 577). Whoever publishes facts of private life without consent shall be fined (Art. 578).

There is no detailed description of private life in the Family Code.
