14. PUBLIC INFORMATION AND ACCESS
TO GOVERNMENT INFORMATION
The Political Constitution of El Salvador recognizes in Art.
18 the right to petition the government:
?Every person has the right to address petitions, in writing
and respectfully, to the legally constituted authorities, seeking
redress and information about how the matter has been resolved.?
Because this right is not regulated it is not too effective
for obtaining information.
