17. REGULATION OF OWNERSHIP AND REGISTRATION REQUIREMENTS OF PUBLICATIONS

This is regulated by Law 11,723, Article 30, which states: ?The owners of periodicals must register them in the National Registry of Intellectual Property.

?The registration of the periodical protects the intellectual property of works published in it and their authors shall be able to request from the Registry a certification confirming such a circumstance.

?To register a periodical, it is necessary to present to the National Registry of Intellectual Property a copy of the latest edition accompanied by the corresponding application.

?The registration must be renewed and, in order to maintain it in effect, a monthly declaration in the Registry, on the appropriate forms must be made, including the numbers and dates of the published issues.

?The owners of the registered periodical publications must collect one sample of the published issue   and seal it with the following caption: Law 11,723 Sample; and they shall be responsible for its authenticity.? 48
