2. SPECIFIC PRESS LAWS

The statutes in force are the Press Law, No. 29 of 1944, and its regulatory decree 109 of 1944, which were implemented by Law 159 of 1959. Many of the articles of Law 29 of 1944 have been repealed by special legislation. Those still in effect are: Preliminary issues; requisites for printing and circulation of printed matter; provisions on newspapers, retractions and clarifications.
