15. ETHIC CODES OR SELFREGULATION

As mentioned above, the Dominican Association of Journalists has a code of ethics for journalists. This code applies to licensed journalists who are regulated by a disciplinary tribunal.

The code establishes rules of conduct that licensed journalists must follow in their professional practice. Among the rules: Do not spread false information, report objectively, do not falsify information to be published, etc. The court may even order the job suspensions of journalists who violate the code.
