18. REGULATION OF FOREIGN OWNERSHIP OF PUBLICATIONS

Art. 5 of the Law of Propagation of Ideas establishes that the editor and his replacement must be Dominican adults in full use of their civil rights and who have not been deprived of their civic rights because of a court sentence.

Paragraph d) of Law 1951 of 1949 requires the editors of newspapers or radio newscasts to be Dominican adults, who are residents of the country and have full use of their civil and political rights.

The Telecommunications Law and its regulation contain no similar requirement.
