E c u a d o r 10. RIGHT OF REPLY AND OF RETRACTION Paragraph 5 of Art. 22 of the Political Constitution provides
the right to retraction as follows: 5. ?The right to freedom of opinion and expression of thought
in any medium, without prejudice of the responsibilities determined
by law. Numeral 9 of Article 23 of the Constitution provides for the
right of rectification: ?Whoever is affected by baseless or inaccurate
statements, or has his honor offended by non-paid information or
publication in the press or other news media shall have the right
to rectification, free of charge, in the same space or time as the
information or publication being rectified.?
