4. STATUS OF INTERNATIONAL TREATIES
IN NATIONAL LAW
Art. 171 of the Political Constitution provides:
?The Constitution is the supreme law of the State. Secondary
and less important issues should conform to constitutional precepts.
International laws, decrees, ordinances, provisions and treaties
or agreements which in any way contradict the Constitution or alter
its prescriptions shall be null and void.
