9. OTHER RESTRICTIONS ON THE CONTENT OF INFORMATION

The Penal Code of the Federal District makes certain acts relating to electoral propaganda punishable:

Article 403: ?Subject to a fine of 10 to 100 days? pay and six months to three years? imprisonment shall be anyone who:

XIII.            During the eight days prior and up to the official closing of the ballot boxes throughout the national territory publishes or disseminates surveys or opinion polls indicating voters? choices.?

Article 405: A fine or 50 to 200 days? pay and imprisonment of two to six years shall be imposed on any electoral official who:

XI.  Publicly and deceitfully issues false news about how the voting is proceeding or its results.?

Article 406: A fine or 100 to 200 days? pay and imprisonment of one to six years shall be imposed on any party worker or candidate who:

V.  Publicly and deceitfully issues false news about how the voting is proceeding or its results.?
