ARUBA AND DUTCH CARIBBEAN
There were no reports of restriction of press
freedom in this period.
Last year, the government of the Dutch Antilles and Aruba passed a law calling
for more transparency in government to enable the media to obtain official
information without problems. Citizens now are also allowed access to information
from the government - but it will be provided only if it "will not be
used to jeopardize the government in any way."
