Miami (17 de octubre del 2005).-- La Sociedad Interamericana de Prensa (SIP) anunció hoy a los integrantes de su Junta de Directores para el período 2005 2008.
La Junta de Directores, conformada por 60 miembros, se renueva en forma anual en un tercio. Tras concluir su 61ª Asamblea General celebrada en Indianápolis, Indiana del 7 al 11 de octubre, la SIP dio a conocer los nombres de los 20 nuevos socios elegidos al directorio, que se adjuntan a continuación, junto a los reemplazantes electos para llenar vacantes que existen en la Junta.

De acuerdo a los estatutos de la SIP, la Junta de Directores asume sus funciones inmediatamente y efectúa una reunión ordinaria durante la asamblea general anual. La Junta de Directores está facultada para establecer la reglamentación y aprobar las medidas necesarias para la dirección de los asuntos de la Sociedad.
La SIP es una organización sin fines de lucro entre cuyos objetivos se destaca la defensa de la libertad de expresión y de prensa en las Américas. IAPA elects new directors
MIAMI, Florida (October 17, 2005) The Inter American Press Association (IAPA) today announced its members of the Board of Directors for the period 2005-2008.
One-third of the full 60-member Board is elected each year to serve for the following three years. On winding up its 61st annual General Assembly in Indianapolis, Indiana, October 7-11 the IAPA announced the names of the new directors (listed as follows), together with those elected to fill existing vacancies on the Board.

Under the IAPA bylaws, the Board of Directors assumes office immediately and holds a regular meeting during the annual General Assembly. The Board has the power to make rules and regulations for conducting the business and affairs of the Association.
