Patrocina la Fundación Teletón para niños incapacitados, presidente del Instituto Nacional de Salud Pública y miembro del Consejo Consultivo del Centro Histórica de la Ciudad de México. Actualmente preside la Comisión de Impunidad de la SIP.

He is the Director of the National Free Book Committee and the newsprint company Productora e Importadora de Papel, S.A., vice chairman of the National Advertising Council, and member of the Cervantino International Festival board and the Board of Directors of Tri-State University in Indiana. In addition, he founded the Teletón Foundation for disabled children, is President of the National Public Health Institute, and is a member of the Mexico City Historical Center board. He currently chairs the IAPA Impunity Committee.
