25 de febrero de 2004 - 18:00
MIAMI, Florida (February 26, 2004)—The future of the news media and new trends in technology will be among key issues to be explored by more than 300 publishers, editors and reporters from around the Western Hemisphere during the Midyear Meeting of the Inter American Press Association (IAPA) in Los Cabos, Mexico, March 12-15.

A series of seminars on these topics will be presented during the meeting in a strategic alliance between the IAPA’s Press Institute and the Technological Institute of Monterrey (ITESM), a renowned Mexican university specializing, among other disciplines, in innovation, technology development and business competitiveness.

The seminars will focus on such topics as trends in information technology, their impact on readership, the news media in the digital age, and media convergence. They will be conducted by distinguished lecturers and specialists from the Technological Institute.

In addition to examining technical aspects of modern journalism, the IAPA half-yearly meeting will also report on violations of press freedom in each of the countries of the Americas.
